About Huggalugs

Product Background

The first Huggalugs product launched was leg and arm huggers (aka leg warmers) for babies and children in early 2006.

After searching high and low for leg warmers for littlies, Creator of Huggalugs Elizar Mytka became frustrated with what was and what was not available on the market for babies and children. Especially apparent was the lack of an Australian made option and after much design negotiation and trial on friends and families children a design of leg warmer was reached that not only covered the gap in little ones pants when out in the stroller or carrier but that fit both arms and legs and a wide variety of little ones body shapes without causing discomfort.

Soon after finalising the leg huggers designs, Huggalugs designed a range of children's gear to complement their leg hugger range. Using high quality Australian materials, they designed 100% Australian Organic cotton t-shirts, 100% Australian Merino wool baby wraps, X-Large bunny rugs and maternity Bump Huggers. All Huggalugs products are a direct response to issues we face as pregnant women and new mothers. Huggalugs strives to be environmentally aware and socially conscious and uses local manufacturers and environmentally sustainable materials in their designs wherever possible with the aim of providing functional, funky and practical solutions for parents to the benefit of the Australian community and to the world at large.

About Huggalugs Creator...

Elizar is a working mum who takes great pride in the children in her life (she has two littlies of her own) and enjoys watching them have fun wearing the clothing designed by Huggalugs. Elizar’s background in fine arts and love of colour adds a very creative slant to the Huggalugs designs and colour spectrum, which is apparent in the range of colours and patterns seen across the brand. Huggalugs aims to be a creative imaginative clothing label that is soundly managed with an emphasis on customer relations and distributing our products through people and companies who we are in sync with our ethical and company goals.
